Mia Abbey’s 6-week summer results.

William & Mary soccer. Six weeks with us this summer: tested in on June 3, tested out on July 13. Every one of her seven tests moved the right way.

How It Works

Test. Train. Re-test.

Every player is measured on the first day, coached for eight weeks on the four pillars, and measured again on the last day. You don’t have to take our word for the change. You get the numbers.

Step 01 · First day

Test in.

Before a single drill, every player goes through the same testing every KPM athlete does: sprints, jumps and a gait analysis of how they actually run. It all goes into a full report, and that report is the baseline everything after is measured against.

  • Broad jump
  • Lateral bound
  • 4-jump average

  • 20-yard dash
Performance Rating
One number for where they stand, plus their strongest and weakest qualities.
Athletic Currency
The ground they can cover or create, forward and sideways.
Performance Limiters
What’s holding them back, and what we’ll fix first.
Step 02 · Eight weeks · Jan 4 – Feb 25

Train the four pillars.

Eight weeks of coaching built on the four pillars of athleticism, in order. Each one builds on the one before it, and here’s what each looks like on a soccer field.

01
Acceleration

First to the ball.

Almost every sprint in a soccer game starts from a jog or a standstill, and most are over in a few steps. The player who gets up to speed fastest wins the ball.

You’ll see it when they…
  • Win the 50/50 ball
  • Get to a through ball before the defender
  • Close down an attacker before they can turn
02
Initial Force Generation

The explosive first move.

How much force a player puts into the ground, how fast, and in the right direction. It’s the difference between a first step that creates space and one that doesn’t.

You’ll see it when they…
  • Explode past a defender off the dribble
  • Get up higher to win a header
  • Push off harder out of the stance in goal
03
Center of Mass Management

Cut, stop and turn, under control.

Getting the body into the right position to change direction without losing speed or balance. Think Messi on the ball.

You’ll see it when they…
  • Shake a defender with one sharp cut
  • Stop, turn and receive in tight space
  • Stay on their feet when someone leans on them
04
Max Velocity

Top speed for the long runs.

The last pillar, and the one that raises the ceiling on the other three. A faster top speed makes every shorter sprint easier too.

You’ll see it when they…
  • Break in behind the back line
  • Make a recovery run to catch an attacker
  • Overlap down the wing and still have legs left
Step 03 · Last day

Re-test. See the change.

Same tests, same protocol, on the last day of the program. Every number sits next to the day-one number, so the change is measured, not guessed.

The Sessions

Co-ed. Grouped right.

The program is open to boys and girls. Inside each session, players are split into groups by age and gender, so every player trains alongside athletes at the same stage, and every group gets coached.
